The International Shipsuppliers & Services Association

Representing nearly 2,000 ship suppliers members worldwide, ISSA is one of the major Shipsuppliers Association formed in 1955 with 60 years of service to the maritime industry. Their aim is highlighted innovation plus improved productivity in the supply chain as key processes in the systematic management of today’s ships. The President’s goal is to work closely together in constructing a compelling global ship supply industry to have a rounded view of the issues facing the industry and ISSA values business relationships and ensures fair trading and high standard.

Shanghai Port Trade Association

Shanghai Port Trade Association was established in 1984 with active members of 335 which is 95% of industry coverage. The main function of the association is to provide services reflecting the demands and norms. The Council of the Association assures to play a leading role to be the guidance of public opinion especially investing in network security to provide protection awareness. Self-discipline, coordination, and organization of information are the main aspects of the Association to have a strong connection with its members.

Singapore Ship-Chandlers Association

Singapore Ship-Chandlers Association was established by nine prominent businessmen with the common goal of conserving the importance of the industry since 1947. The Association and its members have been active and influential in Singapore’s Development as a global hub port. With 150 members, the business has not only concentrated on promoting every business members but as well as to elevate high standards of ship chandlers. The council rest assured to provide dependable and persistent fundamental services, particularly, the control of advanced technology of the port industry. Trust is SSCA’s foundation to encourage everyone in our organization to cooperate in every direction for the benefit of the industry.

Singapore Customs

Singapore Customs is a department under the Ministry of Finance that is the lead agency for trade facilitation and revenue enforcement. It is Singapore’s government agency that was reconstituted on 1 April 2003 after the Customs and Excise Department and the Trade Facilitation Division and Statistics Audit Unit of International Enterprise Singapore were merged. The Customs of Singapore is in charge of the implementation of customs and trade enforcement measures and they protect customs revenue by preventing the evasion of duties and taxes.

Jurong Port

Headquartered in Singapore, Jurong Port is a leading international multipurpose port operator. Established in 1965, the port initially served Singapore’s Jurong Industrial Estate. Jurong Port has since expanded to serve as Singapore’s main general and bulk cargo gateway. Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Enterprise Singapore

Enterprise Singapore, formerly International Enterprise Singapore and SPRING Singapore, is the government agency championing enterprise development. The agency works with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise.

Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)

A*STAR is Singapore’s lead public sector agency that spearheads economic-oriented research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology. Through open innovation, A*STAR collaborates with partners across both the public and private sectors to achieve economic and societal outcomes.

Singapore Management University (SMU)

In 2007, ITI@SMU was founded to be the result of the joint effort between leading industry players in the trading sector, the Singapore Management University (SMU) and International Enterprise (IE). Currently, ITI@SMU has a total of 35 Industry Partners, its duty is to develop manpower and knowledge for the international and trading sector by creating a connection between them. This institution is a great opportunity for students on shaping their talents to get recruited into trading and its related sectors, such as banking, shipping, logistics and finance.

International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA)

International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA) was organized by a group of senior purchasers who wanted to embody the value of the purchasing profession with shipping. The association represents 700 members of ship owners, operators and managers’ account for purchaser members and manufacturers around the world. Their fundamental mission is to promote close operation and relationship between purchaser and supplier in the global maritime business. Furthermore, to develop and support standards within the industry in order to provide value to its members.

Association of Small and Medium Enterprise

Formed in 1986, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprise is a not-for-profit organisation established by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. Having broad knowledge and services, ASME’s focus is to support its SME members with businesses knowledge enough to help them expand their businesses. ASME continues to grow stronger and remains as the champion of a pro-enterprise Singapore. Today, ASME strives to work closely with both the public and the private sectors assuring that the trade can function in a fair environment. Having a strong focus on entrepreneurship, ASME pursue to sustain their position as the business association for entrepreneurs. 

Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)

With Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) hiring only 70% the working population in Singapore. Established in June 2014, U Small and Medium Enterprise initiated by the Labour Movement to undertake the number of issues concerning SMEs. The USME programme accommodates assistance to intensify SME operations so they can better be concerned with their workers.

Business Leaders Alumni Club (Blac)

Business Leaders Alumni Club (Blac) was launched in 2010 to incorporate top business minds in Singapore on boosting management innovation and inspire them to continue learning amongst its members. Through the exchange of ideas and empowering management thinking, more than 100 leaders from well-known companies in Singapore have joined. Blac’s vision is “to develop self, peers and the next generation of business leaders” convincing superiors to obtain knowledge and philosophy from each other. In view of their mission “Inspiring growth for business leaders by business leaders.”, Blac intends to nurture future business leaders.
